BlackBerry Storm 9520

BlackBerry Storm 9520
The BlackBerry Storm2 is RIM's second full-touchscreen smartphone. Unlike the original Storm, the Storm2 features Wi-Fi as well as a redesigned outer shell.
The device code is 9520 for the GSM/UMTS/HSPA model offered by Vodafone and 9550 for the CDMA/EV-DO and UMTS/HSPA model offered by Verizon. The Storm2 comes with 2 GB of on-board flash memory 1GB more than the original and is sold with a 16GB microSD card included. The phone has been a reasonable commercial success despite voice loss/drop calls complaints by some users.
Research in Motion recently released specifications on the phone, reporting that 256 MB of RAM will be available for applications, doubling that of the original Storm. One major change is that the method of input, SurePress, has been redesigned. Instead of one physical button that lies in the direct center of the screen, the Storm 2 has four piezoelectric sensors located on the four outer corners of the screen that will allow for confirmation of input. The screen, reportedly, does not depress when the device is locked or off.
The BlackBerry Storm2 by default is SIM locked, and can be subsequently unlocked on both the 9520 and 9550 to use on any GSM network if the code is obtained from the respective provider. The Blackberry Storm 2 is available in Canada with Telus. The Blackberry Storm 2 is available in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and the United Kingdom with Vodafone. The Blackberry Storm 2 is available in Malaysia with Celcom and Maxis Communications. The Blackberry Storm 2 is available in the United States with Verizon Wireless. The Blackberry Storm 2 is available in the United Kingdom with T-Mobile.

Sonim XP3 Quest

Sonim XP3 Quest

Sonim XP3 Quest phone is very nice to look.. Rather, it's a freezable, drownable, drive-overable, drop-tested-to-2m phone for the world's butterfingers, builders, mountaineers and arctic explorers.
On the inside it's mostly just your average tri-band setup 176x220-pixel, 65k colour display, 2-megapixel camera, MP3 player, Opera Mini Web browser, stereo Bluetooth. It's got GPS and a turn-by-turn navigation app, though no 3G data connectivity -- just EDGE and GPRS.
You can pretty much beat the bejeezus out of it and it'll keep working. If you don't make a call, it'll stay alive for up to 62 days on standby, and it offers 18 solid hours of talk time.
And if it does somehow cave to the terrors of nature or a baby Sonim offers an unconditional three-year guarantee to replace it.
It'll cost you around £300 SIM-free direct from Sonim's Web site, where you can also read more technical details about its built-to-be-beaten-the-hell-up certifications. More photos over the page.
